MauHNet is the Mauritius Honeynet Project managed by the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), a department under the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation.
The purpose of the project is to create a nationwide network of honeypots to monitor and detect cyber threats of the organizational network and to analyse, understand, watch and track hacker’s behaviour for threat prevention and proactive threat detection.
A honeypot is a cybersecurity tool designed to detect and deflect attempts at unauthorized use of information systems. It consists of a network-attached system that acts as a decoy, luring cyber attackers away from legitimate systems.
By joining our membership program, you become a participating organisation of the national Honeynet project and the honeypot is deployed within your network infrastructure.
To join the membership program, simply fill out our membership application form with your organization’s details and contact information. Once your application is approved, you will be contacted for the deployment.
No, membership in the Honeynet Project is free of charge. CERT-MU is a department under the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation and the national advisory body on cyber security.
We welcome critical public sector organisations to join our membership program.
Once your organization becomes a member, you will receive instructions and guidance on how to deploy honeypots within your network infrastructure. Our team is here to assist you every step of the way.
CERT-MU will manage the honeypot deployed in your ICT infrastructure.
